School Uniform

School Uniform Policy

  1. Introduction

    1. It is our school policy that all children wear school uniform when attending school, or when participating in a school-organised event outside normal school hours (unless told otherwise). We provide a complete list of the items needed for school uniform in our school prospectus.
  2. Aims and objectives

    1. Our policy on school uniform is based on the notion that school uniform:
      • promotes a sense of pride in the school;
      • engenders a sense of community and belonging towards the school;
      • is practical and smart;
      • identifies the children with the school;
      • prevents children from coming to school in fashion clothes that could be distracting in class;
      • makes children feel equal to their peers in terms of appearance;
      • is regarded as suitable wear for school and good value for money by most parents;
      • is designed with health and safety in mind.

We have made slight adjusts to our uniform policy in 2022, as we recognise that uniform can be costly and we want to support families to be able to adhere to the policy without huge expense. Rachael Edmonds has a Facebook page were preloved uniform is available. Please visit:

We would prefer the children to wear a jumper or cardigan with the school logo, however, a plain blue jumper or cardigan is also acceptable.  The children have a PE lesson twice each week.  Children wear their PE kit to school on their PE lesson day. However, in addition to this the children do lots of physical activities during the week so we advise school shoes that are suitable for running and playing in.  Black trainers are acceptable as long as they are plain black.
